Skiing is a winter sport, right? At least for those of us living in North America, there are few options to get a downhill fix after the traditional skiing and snowboarding season end in the spring. Valemount Glacier Destinations Ltd. is hoping to address this deficiency with their plans for a new resort near the border of British Colombia and Alberta in western Canada. Opening in three phases, with the first scheduled to debut in late 2018, the resort will eventually boast a world-class and best in North America vertical drop of 6857 feet (2090m). With the area averaging hundreds of inches of annual snowfall, the developers plan to offer massive ski-able territory, including two glaciers, with all natural snow. The resort also plans to feature sightseeing on the glaciers and mountaintops for those weary of strapping on skis or snowboards.
